Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week I will make a list of 10 books, authors or other bookish things surrounding a certain topic. Today’s topic is of course, all about the bookish resolutions I have for the new year. So without further ado, here are my 2016 bookish resolutions.
I’ll try to hold to all of these, together with the two challenges I’m doing this year: The Goodreads Award challenge and the Blacklist Book challenge. I have made announcement posts on those in the beginning of December.
What are your 2016 resolutions?
Awesome resolutions! I don’t have many aimed at books right now. Keep up with my blog, read at least 10 Netgalley books, and to only borrow 3 (maybe 4, okay 5 maximum!) from the library at once.
Good luck!

Thank you so much! Those are resolutions I could probably use as well 🙂 I think I did well on mine this year!

Great resolutions! I hope they work out, especially the TBR one. 😀 Because I NEVER can. My TBR pile just keeps increasing. And increasing. And increasing. Happy new year to you. My resluation is to re read the classics and read atleast one play by Shakespeare completely.

Thank you! Mine just keeps increasing too. Good luck with your resolutions! I should also make a classics-resolution, but they intimidate me. I’ve only read a few, and didn’t really enjoy those so now I’m scared.

Then dont keep the resolution. Books are for us to enjoy. So if you don’t get super excited do not force yourself to read it. Ofcourse you can try a few just to see how different genres taste like. But never force yourself to.

These are excellent resolutions! Good luck with them all. Haha, oh that reminds me my Netgalley ratio must be ATROCIOUS. I don’t even want to go and look at it.

Thanks Mel! I know, must avoid looking at the ratio at all costs…

What a good list – I too need to make a dint in my tbr. Plus I need to get my Netgalley ratio up to 80%. It’s not quite as bad as it used to be but it’s still not at 80!
Good luck for your resolutions in 2016.

Thank you! Mine is not as bad as it used to be either, but around 60% is still not 80%.

I’m trying to get my TBR down too, but I don’t think I’ll make it to 50 by the end of the year! My goal’s probably more like lessen it by 20%.

I doubt that I’ll make it to 50 too. But it’s really a number I want to strive towards. Good luck with lessening it though, you’re aiming to take away a fifth, which is quite a lot too!

Great resolutions! I’m just started Netgalley, and I’m trying to be good about not overwhelming myself. Taking bookish photographs is also another goal of mine as I try to get my instagram going. Good luck!

Good luck! My NetGalley ratio has always been really low, but I’m actually just giving up with reading ARCs, so I don’t really care too much. I also want to read more underhyped books because I’ve realized how much I love interacting with those authors and pushing those books into more hands.

Thank you! I love reading underhyped books too, and I’d really like to read more of them and interact with the authors more 😀

Good luck on your resolutions! And the NetGalley ratio is a great goal for 2016, a lot of bloggers I know are working on that. And I just followed on Twitter to help you towards #8 🙂

Thank you! I just feel guilty about the Netgalley ratio. I am glad that I’ve only requested 2 books in the past 4 months or so. At least I’m not making it worse. Thank you so much for following me on Twitter 😀

I want to get my physical TBR down to 50 too! 50 just seems like a much more nicer and manageable number 🙂
These are great resolutions and good luck with them all!

9 is something I really need to work on. I have so many ideas while I am doing things but the second I go to actually write about them I dont like them or dont remember. I need to get more organised in general I think.

I do the EXACT same thing! It’s so frustrating…

That NetGalley ratio though, I should’ve put that on my resolutions. I feel like it doesn’t matter how much I review, it’s still below eighty and I still get rejected

I feel the same way. I always feel so happy when I finish and review a Netgalley book, but then my ratio changes with like 2 or 3%, and I’m like: COME ON!

Exactly!! I made the mistake of requesting books I wasn’t super interested in and then never reading them so I feel like my ratio will be stuck below 80% forever

I feel you. I have the exact same thing!

I really like the idea of a discussion post each month. There used to be a meme that offered a prompt for discussion each week…can’t remember the name of it…don’t know if it is still operational….
Here are my resolutions for 2016!

Ooh, that sounds interesting! I should do some research on that meme.

These are all great resolutions! I like the reading 10 books or authors you haven’t heard of before. I would like to read more of book and authors that aren’t on my radar as well. Good luck with them all!

Thank you! I put that resolution on there because I just felt like I was seeing the same books everywhere. So I wanted to make a conscious effort of picking something else 😀
